Activities at Camp Easterseals Virginia include: swimming, drama, canoeing, zipline, horseback riding, crafts, fishing, music, sports, special events, dancing, games and nature studies. Individual session lengths may vary. Please check our website for up to date information. Separate sessions are offered for children, young adults, and adults. In addition to traditional sessions, we offer specialty camps, including Super Summer Camp (for children with visual impairments) and Family Camp, where family members attend with their loved one with a disability.

For 67 years, Camp Easterseals Virginia has provided quality camping and recreation programs for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. Our programs are designed to offer children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy fun and challenging activities in a supportive and adaptive environment. These activities include swimming, drama, canoeing, overnight camping, marksmanship, climbing wall, music, sports, horseback riding, nature studies, crafts, fishing, dancing, games, gardening and many special events. Individual session lengths may vary.

Counselors and program staff, led by unit leaders, live with campers to provide supervision and personal care assistance as needed. Staff to camper ratio is based on individual need, and the average ratio is one staff member per three campers. Camper safety is the utmost priority of all Camp Easterseals Virginia staff. All of our team members attend a comprehensive, one-week training before campers arrive. This training covers all aspects of working with campers, emphasizing safe practice and preventative measures in everything from personal care, to health considerations, to recreational activities. In addition, Camp has full time nursing staff on site throughout the summer. Camp Easterseals Virginia is fully accredited by the American Camp Association.
