We welcome chaperones of any relation to our campers to support them through day camp! It is not a requirement for campers to have a chaperone. Please be advised that on special trips we CANNOT guarantee that we will be accommodate any additional fees or transportation for your camper's chaperone. (i.e. admission costs, meals, rides)

Indy Parks Camp GATHER is a 7-week day camp. Camp programming runs from Monday to Friday of every week. There is a $15 deposit fee for each of the weeks you want to register for that is non-refundable.

In addition to the deposit fee there is a $120 weekly day camp fee for each week a camper is enrolled. June 19th and July 4th are observed holidays where camp will be closed. The weekly fee is $97 for those two weeks being shortened for the holidays.

Activities vary week to week that include activities from local vendors, arts & crafts, life skill activities, access to a state-of-the-art sensory room, and a host of recreational activities.

Financial Assistance Available

Indy Parks offers financial assistance for summer day camps. Financial assistance is for all Indy Parks day camps not just Camp GATHER and are distributed out first come first serve based on submitted applications. When applying for camp, pay the $15 deposit fee to reserve your spot, and to ensure that all your registered camp weeks are covered by the financial assistance. Indy Parks Day Camps offers free breakfast and lunch through the At Risk Meals Program. Meals are prepared to provide a nutritious meal for all children under the age of 18. For more information go to https://www.doe.in.gov/nutrition/summer-food-service-program.

Indy Parks Camp GATHER/ GATHER On the Move is a ACA accredited day camp for those with physical and (or) intellectual limitations. Both camps are a 7-week day camp located at Rhodius Park. Camp GATHER is for children ages 6-13 and GATHER on The Move(GOM) is for teenagers ages 14-19. While both camps are located at the same park, we split the two groups up for most of the day to ensure that every camper can get the care that they need, and to ensure that each camper can get the best day camp experience.

We take pride in making sure that we have the best qualified staff members servicing our campers. Many of our staff members are teachers/ assistants in school classrooms. All staff members go through a background check and are licensed in CPR. In addition to CPR training Camp GATHER/GOM staff members are trained by Damar Services in how to properly deescalate crisis situations.

Camp GATHER/GOM is one of a few summer day camps in Indianapolis that provides comprehensive services to youth and young adults who have physical and (or) intellectual limitations. We provide free breakfast and lunch to our campers. Throughout the course of the day both groups will take part in activities that will help them become more self-sufficient in their daily living such as life skills, community programs, and building daily communication skills. Campers will also participate in daily, nature walks, large & small motor skills activities. We also have weekly art projects, and have numerous outside vendors come in to service our campers with activities. Rhodius Park also houses a state-of-the-art sensory room that Camp GATHER has access to. Camp is offered for 7 weeks and campers can sign up for 1 week or all 7 weeks.
