Camp Little Giant has been at the forefront of inclusive recreation since 1952. We offer many different camps and activities which can accommodate a wide range of cognitive, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.

Dyna Camp is designed for children and teenagers, ages 8-12 with diagnosed ADHD who do not need the level of support offered at special needs overnight camps, yet need a different experience than a large traditional overnight camp can offer. Dyna Camp is a week long program, and offers all the traditional camp activities, such as rock climbing, hiking, waterfront activities and much more!

Lillypads is tailored to the special needs of children who struggle in social spheres or need a little more attention than a traditional camp may offer. Whether diagnosed with Autism Spectrum, generalized anxiety, ADHD, or social anxiety, the Lilypads section of Camp Little Giant fosters friendship development, gently guides personal development and nurtures social growth in all campers. This camp does not require a diagnosis to attend! This camp is also for campers who just may not be ready for a camp with 50+ campers with high staff ratios!

Dynamic Duos! adults is catered to adults with developmental, cognitive or physical disabilities and their college/adult aged peers. Campers participate side by side with their camp “buddy” in traditional summer camp activities including hiking, swimming, kayaking, arts and crafts, rock climbing, ropes course and team building. Camp “buddies” will be paired with your camper for the camp week. They will be a bunk mate, meal mate, activity mate and helping hand to their buddy with a disability. Campers should have the skills to handle the sleep-away-from-home aspects of the camp program, including living independently in a group setting and taking care of their own personal needs with prompting when needed. (Independent completing ADL’s including but not limited to toileting, hygiene, feeding, dressing and transfers).

Dynamic Duos! teens is catered to teens with developmental or cognitive disabilities and their peers inclusively. Campers participate side by side with their camp “buddy” in traditional summer camp activities including hiking, canoeing, fishing, rock climbing, swimming and high ropes course. Camp “buddies” will be paired with a camper for the camp week. They will be a bunk mate, meal mate and helping hand to their buddy with a disability.

Financial Assistance Available

Assistance is based on a first-come/first-serve application basis. Amounts vary according to financial need.

Camp Little Giant offers a wide range of meals and has the ability to meet your campers specific dietary needs

Established is 1953 and accredited by the American Camping Association, Camp Little Giant was the first university-affiliated Camp in the USA specifically for people with disabilities. Camp Little Giant serves individuals with a wide variety of backgrounds, ages, abilites, and disabilities. Camp Staff are mostly college-age students majoring in fields like Recreation Therapy, Outdoor Education, OT, PT, and more. Staff-to-Camper ratios 1:5. A nurse is on site 24 hours a day when Camp is in session. Financial Aid is available on a first-come/first-serve application basis according to financial need.
