The entire family is welcome to attend camp with the special needs child(ren). Unaccompanied children cannot attend.

We operate a family-focused facility on Clear Lake in the Cascade Mountains, for special needs children, with Fri-Sun sessions and Tues-Thur mid-week sessions once a month from the end of May through the end of September. Generally, special needs children and their families camp as part of a medical support group such as an Autism or Down Syndrome group. We do have some sessions open to individual families not in a support group on a first come first served basis. All children must attend camp with their families/caregivers, we do not provide supervision or medical support. We can house 16 families with 14 cabins onsite. Available activities include boating (ADA compliant pontoon boat) & wagon rides (we provide drivers), hiking, basketball, swimming at the lake, fishing, playground equipment, firepit activities, movies in a tree house, and horseback riding (through outside sourcing). Families can do what they want on their own time, activities are not mandatory. The weekend is free; meals and lodging are at no cost. Volunteer groups run the sessions and do all the cooking and cleaning, families can show up and have fun in a supportive atmosphere without physical or financial limitations.

There is no cost to attend camp, weekend sessions are free and include meals and lodging. We charge a $25 refundable reservation fee.

We prepare all the meals and will accommodate dietary restrictions to the best of our ability. We have gluten and dairy-free ingredients, and families can bring their own food. Inquire with us ahead of time for questions on special diets.

Camp Prime Time is the only camp of its kind in the Pacific Northwest whose sole purpose is to serve the recreational needs of special families. Some camps operate occasionally to serve people with illnesses or disabilities, but none serve the entire family and none operate each day in addressing this population. Camp Prime Time aims to provide a recreational facility that's capable of providing these special families an enjoyable, healthful, stimulating, and supportive wilderness experience. Camp Prime Time does that by providing a safe and comfortable facility outfitted with modern conveniences that are not in conflict with Prime Time's "rustic" concept. We offer a choice of recreational opportunities that encourage family participation that may not normally be available to these families. Families can take nature walks, go swimming in the lake, take boat rides, go fishing, or just relax in a rustic cabin by a fire. They can sing traditional camp songs, roast marshmallows, and make smores at the campfire. We provide a facility free of the financial burden often associated with camping and recreation. Our facility is a home away from home, promoting family togetherness. It is where families find an atmosphere that encourages people to; interact as a cohesive unit, seek camaraderie, demonstrate empathy, and find the benefits of sharing with families who have similar issues. Camp Prime Time offers an opportunity to develop self-esteem and self-confidence by doing those things previously deemed "impossible" or inaccessible.
We have a waiting list every year and as such must prioritize the eligibility for use of the facility by persons or support groups fairly and equitably.
We continue to look at ways of expanding our programs and building upon the talents of our group of volunteers who assist with the operation of all aspects of the organization. Without our volunteers, Camp Prime Time would not have thrived since 1986, serving these very special families.
