Camp Rainbow Gold hosts 5 annual camps for Idaho children diagnosed with cancer, their siblings, or their entire family unit.

Applications are now being accepted for Family Camp, Sibling Camp, Teen Oncology Camp, and Youth Oncology Camp. Applications for the Family Fall Retreat will open in April.

Family Camp: June 7- 10 -- About 20 families who have experienced a pediatric cancer diagnosis retreat to Camp Perkins near Stanley, Idaho to recharge, reconnect, refocus, and generally spend time with those they love while being in the serenity of the Idaho wilderness.

You and your children will have the opportunity to explore the outdoors and participate in activities such as mountain biking, creating artistic masterpieces in the infamous art shack, and enjoying campfire songs and marshmallows, along with so much more.

Sibling Camp: July 8-13 -- Siblings of children diagnosed with cancer also experience a strong emotional and social impact. Just as a child with cancer needs support, attention, and care, so do their strongest supporters - their brothers and sisters.

Camp Rainbow Gold Sibling Camp hosts siblings of children currently or recently in treatment at Cathedral Pines near Ketchum, Idaho. Over the course of several days, the attention turns to these children who also need the chance to have fun and make friends with other children who understand them.

Teen Oncology Camp: July 15-20 and Youth Oncology Camp: July 22-27 -- The Camp Rainbow Gold oncology camps are divided by age - Youth Camp for children 6-12 and a Teen Camp for children 13-17.

Each week hosts approximately 50-60 children at Cathedral Pines for a week of discovery and outdoor fun featuring swimming, sharing, singing, hiking, playing, fishing, horseback riding, dancing, storytelling, laughing, painting, biking, memory making, creating, dreaming, and living.

A full medical staff and a licensed social worker keep a careful and nurturing watch over the medical and emotional needs of every camper while highly trained camp staff and volunteers aim to provide a fun, safe and caring community for the children.

Children meet other campers undergoing similar experiences who can share a bond only found here. Most campers return year after year, building on old friendships, adding new ones and eagerly welcoming first-time campers into the Camp Rainbow Gold family.

Family Fall Retreat: Oct. 25-28 -- Similar to the Family Camp in June, giving families the opportunity to meet others going through similar situations and to work through team camp activities as a family unit, but it is held at Cathedral Pines near Ketchum, Idaho every year and it features more pumpkins and the distinct possibility of being snowed on.

All of our camps are free to Idaho pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Camp Rainbow Gold's camps are summer getaways for Idaho children diagnosed with cancer and their families. But on the surface, CRG camps appear to be just like any other summer camps - fishing, hiking, camp fires, crafts, laughter and the chance to make lasting friendships.

Actually, on second thought, maybe that's exactly what they are; summer camps where individuals can let go of worries, relax, and spend time with others going through what might be similar struggles with pediatric cancer.

All camps are FREE to all campers and are held in the beautiful Sawtooth National Forest near Ketchum, Idaho.
