We provide camps for teen-agers & young adult athletes that are blind/visually impaired. We give them opportunities to experience "extreme" activities that are not offered to them in their daily lives. These activities include surfing, wake boarding, inner tubing, go-kart racing, horse-back riding, white water rafting, and backpacking in the summer. In the winter our activities include downhill skiing/snowboarding, tubing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and rock climbing. Our camp last one week and the dates are available on our website, xmocamps.org These camps are provided at no cost to the athlete. The funding for these programs is accomplished through private/public donations.

*ages outside of accepted range(13-30) are accepted on a case-to-case basis.

Financial Assistance Available

Camps are free to all participants, transportation expense assistance is available to attend summer camp in Los Angeles(LAX) and winter camp in Winter Park, CO (DIA) for those who qualify.

To provide charitable camps for teen-agers and young adults who are blind/visually impaired or have other disabilities. These camps are offered at no charge to the participants. All of its camping programs are available on a non-discriminatory basis to such persons regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, age, religion, disability (unless applicable to qualifications for specific programs) or economic status.

We offer unique opportunities for the blind and visually impaired to experience. Through our winter camping program it may be snow-skiing/boarding, cross-country skiing, driving a snowmobile, screaming down the tubing hill, or enjoying a sleigh ride. One of our summer camps includes surfing, wake boarding, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing and getting a full California experience. Another camp exclusively for the athletes that are capable includes summiting and backpacking to the top Mt. Whitney. XMO is continually growing and expanding, adding new and unique opportunities for the visually impaired. All camp affiliated events are centered around a Christian atmosphere, yet being Christian is not a requirement to partake.
