Autism Summer Quest
Program Information
The Quest program is not a treatment program, rather it is:
A strength based recreational opportunity for individuals to have new experiences and feel good about themselves.
A controlled setting for the development of appropriate and positive peer relationships.
An ongoing support program facilitating personal growth through task completion, a secure learning environment, defined expectations and an individualized focus.
An opportunity for caregivers and children to have a break from each other
A program structure that reinforces and maintains growth over a period of time
An enjoyable camp experience.
Drop off time is on Monday at 11am, we will provide a lunch. Pick up time on Friday is between 12:30-1pm, we will provide lunch before they leave.
Site Location
The Kinark Outdoor Centre is located near the town of Minden, approximately 2 1/2 hours northeast of Toronto. The site is a wilderness based setting, located on a small, forested private lake. Amidst this beautiful setting, the centre boasts modern and comfortable facilities

We faciltate an individualized menu based on the needs of each camper which is developed through a planning process with parents or guardian.

The Kinark Outdoor Centre is a program of Kinark Child and Family Services a provincial Children's Mental Health Organization. The Outdoor Centre has been providing enhanced recreational summer camp experiences for special needs individuals since 1985 and is a recognized leader in providing strength and interest based social growth opportunities. Our reputation, program diversity and individualized camper experience approach has enabled us to attract and hire highly skilled program practicioneers. The Centre operates in compliance with the Ontario Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and is an acredited member of the Ontario Camps Association and Children's Mental Health Ontario.
