Midwest Children's Burn Camp (MCBC) will take place from Sunday, July 27th to Sunday, August 4th in 2024. MCBC is open to children ages 6 to 17 who have experienced burn injury and smoke inhalation injury, this unique camp experience helps campers discover that who they are on the inside is much more valuable than the scars they see on the outside. All children attend free of charge. Transportation is provided from major metropolitan areas across the state of Missouri, including St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, and Rolla. We also partner with Angel Flight to provide free air travel to campers living outside these service areas.

MCBC campers enjoy adventures including ropes courses, canoeing, archery, arts and crafts, and lots of dancing! MCBC offers a safe and supportive environment where young burn survivors spend a week with others who have also experienced the trauma of burn injuries. Fun is the focus and friendships form quickly. Burn Camp provides campers with life-long friends to share their journeys with as they get back to living.

Financial Assistance Available

No child pays to attend camp. Camp is tuition free thanks to the generous donations of individual contributors and dedicated sponsors.

Three meals and an afternoon snack are provided daily. There is a salad bar every lunch & dinner. Meals are served family style. Attention is made to provide for any special dietary needs, i.e., gluten free, vegetarian, etc.

The counselors are adult burn survivors, firefighters, first responders, nurses and people from the general public. The goal is to provide friends, fun & memories while building self-esteem. It is a time to learn that who they are on the inside is much more valuable than the scars they see on the outside.
