Talisman Programs offers a variety of programming for every camper with any type of high-functioning neuro-developmental delay diagnoses. In all programs- groups focus on building social and communicative skills in a fun, safe environment. TEEN PROGRAMS:
*Mountain Odyssey: 13 day program focusing on history of WNC.
*QUEST: A treasure hunt using canoes, map & compass, and clues.
*Caves & Mining: Cave exploration, rock and gem mining.
*Tri-Adventures: Expedition including backpacking, rock climbing, and flat water canoeing.
*Teen Adventure Series: 7- day introduction to Teen Adventures. The Land program focuses on hiking, climbing and high-ropes skills. The Lake Program woks on canoeing and water sports.

Very limited scholarship fund.

We provide wholesome food that is generally familiar to our campers (for example, hamburgers, hotdogs, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, cereal, and eggs) and mostly made from scratch. We encourage our sometimes-picky campers to try new foods by serving no-thank-you helpings of every dish and celebrating new tastes discovered. We do have limited meal alternatives, and will never let a child go hungry.

Parents of picky eaters- we require that your camper be able to consume at least half of the items we serve. Please email camp for summer menu. We have limited alternatives available.

We are able to accommodate special dietary needs including but not limited to: Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy-free, and GF/CF. There is an extra charge for all except vegetarian, to defray added ingredient and prep costs. We are not able to provide fully kosher meals.

We do not serve junk food, deep-fried items, or much processed sugar (except our camp-out s'mores and ice cream night!). Healthy afternoon snacks are offered every day, and we encourage the drinking of plenty of water all day long.

Talisman Programs is in our 4th decade of providing exceptional programming for children with ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, and other learning differences in an experiential adventure camp environment. Our programs offer children opportunities to develop physical and social competence in an atmosphere that encourages and supports self-regulation and self-direction.
Our activities are designed to build confidence, promote responsibility, and provide a fun and successful summer camp experience. We teach problem-solving and conflict resolution through our insight-oriented group discussions, modeling and practice. Our highly-structured schedule and supportive staff allow campers to relax in a safe environment for building friendships and independence while having loads of fun!
