Family and/or caregivers are welcome to join the campers on their adventures however the family member(s) and/or caregiver will be required to pay for the days event and food for themselves.

Camp Days:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
(One day per week will run longer due to out of town field trips. These dates will be determined in advance.)

*Must be a Member of The Arc Shiawassee / Arc of Mid-Michigan to join camp*

Camp Rates:
Current Arc Member $75 wk. /$29 day
Self Advocate Membership Cost is $18/year

Payment is due the first day of each camp week.

Camp Fees include:
Activities
Field Trips including admission and transportation
SATA Transportation to and from camp daily
(based on availability)
One lunch per week in an area restaurant
Camp bag and t-shirt

Financial Assistance Available

Partial camp scholarships are sometimes available when grant funding is obtained.

Campers bring their own lunch two out of the three days a week. For that third day the Arc Shiawassee will provide them with a lunch. This will take place in a local restaurant where the campers can enjoy a nice lunch out with their friends, while learning how to place an orders with the correct portion size in mind as well as how to behave and use their manners when in a restaurant or in public for one of our many fieldtrips.

The Arc Shiawassee's summer day camp is designed for teens and adults, age 12 and up, with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

At camp everyone will have fun while making new friends, building new skills, and growing their independence. Give your loved one an experience that will last a lifetime! This experience is built around the wonderful qualities of our members. It gives them the opportunity to focus on their various abilities rather than their disabilities. We accomplish this idea by showing our participants their potential. Camp provides them with
opportunities to influence their community and see the impact that they have made by becoming contributing citizens.

As a result our community will also become more aware, accepting and welcoming of those that have unique and different abilities. Community inclusion is part of our summer camp activities.

Camp participants will expand their current abilities, discover and improve upon new skills, explore their natural leadership abilities, as well as learn to display, support and accept leadership skills within themselves as well as their peers.
