Financial Assistance Available

There are funding opportunities for residents of NYC with a child that has a diagnosed Developmental Disability and has gone through the eligibility process with the Office of People with Development Disabilities (OPWDD). MAC can assist in accessing this funding. There are other financial options for people who do not qualify for this program.

There are multiple food options including healthy and kid-friendly choices at all three meals of the day. Food allergies and dietary restrictions do not prevent attendance to camp. The dinning hall is well equip to meet any food restriction. We have had campers who eat gluten free, nut free, dairy free, vegan, etc.

YAI National Institute for People with Disabilities (YAI-NIPD) has teamed up with Frost Valley YMCA in order to provide valuable summer camp experiences for children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in an inclusive and supportive environment.

MAC is a recreational summer camp program where the focus is having fun in a supportive and inclusive residential camp setting. MAC is ran in partnership with Frost Valley YMCA, one of the nation’s largest residential summer camps.

Frost Valley YMCA and YAI are leaders in their fields and are able to bring together children and young adults regardless of abilities, for a fun-filled summer!

Campers in the MAC program are included in the larger camp population, while still maintaining a camaraderie and pride in their villages. Within the MAC villages there is a ratio of 3:1 (camper:staff) throughout the day. This allows for additional support with ADLs (activities of daily living), navigating social interactions, and flexibility for each individual’s specific needs. Most importantly, we see campers in the MAC program self defining as a part of the larger camp community, developing pride in their experience.
